Who are HPRs?
Haunting and Paranormal Researchers were bourne out of the Harlow Paranormal Researchers. In early 2005, due to the members living in different towns, we decided to change the name so that we could encompass people from larger regions.
Team members are from varied backgrounds in work and in education level and this helps us to keep a good balance within the team.
How do we work?
When we receive a call or email from someone who needs advice, we try to offer basic advice to see if they have a haunting or maybe some other reason for their belief that they have spirit problems. When it looks like it could be a haunting, we will send a couple of the team members to interview the client and ask a series of questions and maybe take some instrument readings. There may be up to three visits before a dicision is taken with the client to perform a full investigation. Its important that the team build a rapour and trust with the client before an investigation can take place.
When the team perform an invetigation, they use a standard set of equipment; EMF to read any changes in the electrical magnetic field. Negative ION detector to track static charges in the atmosphere. Digital voice recorders, Digital Video cameras, note book and pens. Some members use a Ouija-board as a tool but this is dependent on the clients views.
Depending on the time and size of the location, will determine how many people will be allocated to the investigation.
The team are made up of about 50% who believe in ghosts, 30% do not and remaining 20% sit on the fence.
